ABOUT
The Otto Walberg Memorial Scholarship seeks to assist a graduating female high school softball participant who plans to continue her education beyond high school. Otto Walberg filled his 38 years of life with fun, enthusiasm, and dedication to the people and things he loved. He was always there to offer help to a friend or to anyone else who could use a hand. As a softball umpire, player, and coach, Otto Walberg demonstrated and encouraged these traits in others. Otto Walberg was known to be friendly, fair, and enjoyed a good laugh.

This scholarship seeks to benefit softball participants who demonstrate exceptional sportsmanship, leadership, and enthusiasm in the game of softball. Financial need is also a factor that will be considered in the selection of recipients.

ELIGIBILITY
To qualify for the scholarship, the applicant must be a graduating female senior at Anacortes, Burlington, Concrete, La Conner, Mount Vernon, Sedro-Woolley or Stanwood High Schools and be a high school softball participant. The recipient must use the scholarship to attend an accredited technical school, community college, college or university. One letters of recommendation is required.

FUNDING AMOUNT
The scholarship amount is a one-time award of at least $1,000.
