Together Through the Holidays: Progress with the Skagit Disaster Relief Fund
Thanks to generous donor support, Skagit Community Foundation has been able to deploy disaster relief funds quickly and thoughtfully, addressing immediate needs while remaining responsive as conditions continue to evolve. Additional grants will be awarded in the coming weeks, with the SCF Board of Directors continuing to meet regularly with staff to adapt and refine our disaster relief strategy as new information and needs emerge. A key milestone in this work is the launch of the 𝐒𝐤𝐚𝐠𝐢𝐭 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐑𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐟 𝐇𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐥 𝐋𝐨𝐝𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦, designed to support individuals and families who remain displaced by the floods. More information on this program is shared below. Read the updated Skagit Disaster Relief newsletter here.

Skagit Community Foundation Activates Disaster Relief Fund
We are currently facing an unprecedented flood emergency in Skagit County, with projections indicating levels that may exceed historical records. In response, SCF has activated the Skagit Disaster Relief Fund to help address the urgent and emerging needs of our community. While we hope for the best, SCF has long prepared for moments like this. Recognizing that disasters in our region are a matter of when, not if, we have carefully stewarded this fund so that resources are ready for rapid, coordinated support when our community needs it most. To donate or learn more about our response efforts and how the Disaster Relief Fund is being deployed, we invite you to read our Skagit Disaster Relief Newsletter here. As we celebrate the holiday season and reflect on the generosity of our community, we’re excited to share our 𝐃𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝐃𝐢𝐠𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐍𝐞𝐰𝐬𝐥𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫, filled with meaningful updates.
