Mark grew up in Mount Vernon, studied at Skagit Valley College and Western Washington University, and became widely known as an artist, florist, caterer, and vibrant creative force in the community. He is remembered by family and friends for his creative energy, generosity, imagination, and deep love of Skagit County.
This Fund reflects the Circle of Friends’ commitment to celebrating Mark’s art, philanthropy, and continuing his tradition of giving to causes in the community he dearly loved. |

During his lifetime, Mark shared his creative talents with many beloved local organizations, including: the Skagit Regional Health Foundation (and its Festival of Trees), Skagit Valley College Foundation, the Museum of Northwest Art, the Lincoln Theatre Foundation, the Mount Vernon Arts Commission, the Celtic Arts Foundation, the Salem Lutheran and Fir-Conway Lutheran Churches, and families in need throughout the valley. |
The Mark Iverson Circle of Friends was created to carry on his legacy — by celebrating his art and continuing the community work he held dear. Through this Circle, we honor the way Mark lived:
with creativity, compassion, and connection.

Art is our one true global language. It knows no nation, it favors no race, and it acknowledges no class. It speaks to our need to reveal, heal, and transform. It transcends our ordinary lives and lets us imagine what is possible.”
