A Nonprofit Agency Fund
is a powerful investment tool that allows nonprofit organizations to secure their financials future while focusing on what matters most - serving our community.

A well-managed endowment provides a dependable income stream that helps organizations plan for the future.

The principal of the fund remains invested, while the earnings generated can be reinvested for growth or distributed back to the organization to support ongoing operations, programs, or special projects.

Investing with
The Skagit Community Foundation

When a nonprofit organization establishes an Agency Fund at the Skagit Community Foundation, the assets are invested as part of a $13.5+ million pool professionally managed by Badgley + Phelps Wealth Managers.

This partnership offers several advantages:
  • A Best-Practice Investment Policy designed with a disciplined approach to balance asset allocation, manage risk, maximize returns, and is reviewed regularly.
  • Finance & Investment Committee Oversight: this committee works closely with SCF investment managers to monitor the performance of the investment pool and ensure that it meets or exceeds long-term benchmarks.
  • Low Investment Fees = Greater Returns: because assets are pooled,
Agency Funds benefit from low investment fees that are typically only available to large institutional investors.

Why Invest Locally?
When Funds are established at the Skagit Community Foundation, your investment goes beyond financial returns.
Administrative fees stay within the local community, strengthening the nonprofit sector in Skagit County.

Quarterly Nonprofit Educational Seminars
Capacity-building educational seminars to support networking and professional development of the local Skagit nonprofit community. Registration is required.

Resources & Assistance

Community Connections and Visibility

Partnering with SCF opens doors to greater visibility and networking opportunities. Whether through Foundation-hosted events, donor gatherings, or the SCF Annual Grants Catalog used year-round as an educational tool and funding opportunity, organizations become a part of a larger ecosystem where connections can lead to new partnerships and expand impact.
