Grant Application

Please use the following format for grant applications. We prefer application via email in Word format. If you are unable to submit documents via email, please present applications on 8½" x 11" paper, unbound. Please submit one original of the application, which must include the following information:

Contents

1. Name and address of the tax exempt organization.
2. A brief history of the organization.
3. The mission of the organization.
4. Principal programs and accomplishments
   A concise statement of the purpose of the request and the amount requested.
5. Outline the need for the project, the specific solutions to be reached, the expected contributions to the population served, and the criteria for measuring success of the project.
6. A statement of whether aid has been sought (whether or not approved) during the preceding three years from other foundations and, if so, the names of the foundations and the amount received from each, if any.
7. Previous Skagit Community Foundation grants (amounts and dates).
8. A statement that notes the grant purpose has been approved by the applicant’s governing body.
9. Name and position of the person submitting the application.
   

Supporting Documents:

1. A documented budget for the proposed term of the grant. Please include the total amount to be raised for the project and include a list of all other expected sources o funds and the amounts expected.
2. An organizational budget for the current fiscal year.
3. A copy of year-to-date financial statements (balance sheet and statement of activities).
4. A copy of applicants most recent audited financial statements and latest IRS Form 990 tax return.
5. A list of current members of applicants governing body (including phone numbers and email addresses if interested in receiving news about the Skagit Community Foundation).
6. A copy of the applicants current U.S. Treasury tax exempt 501(c)(3)letter.
