Getting Started is Easy

We can work with you to design a program that fits your needs and lets you choose the level of involvement with issues and organizations that are most important to you.  You may wish to establish a fund in your name, your family’s name, or in the name of any person or organization(s) that you wish to honor.  So take the first step – watch your investment grow, receive immediate tax benefits and provide immediate and lasting impact in our community, our state or our world.

You can create a named fund in any of these categories:

Unrestricted Fund

You allow and entrust The Skagit Community Foundation to use available grant dollars to support a wide range of community issues that may be time sensitive or are not anticipated.

Field of Interest Fund

Rather than choosing a specific organization(s), you tell us to use available grant dollars in a particular program area including education, youth, performing arts or the environment.

Donor Advised Fund

These funds give you the opportunity to actively participate in the grantmaking process by recommending how to use these gifts.  The foundation’s grant making committee comprised of board members has final approval of these recommendations and issues the grants to nonprofit organizations in the name of the fund or anonymously.

Designated  Fund

A designated fund allows you to have direct gifts to one or more specific charities that cover a lifetime and beyond in giving.  The Skagit Community Foundation ensures that the intent of the gift is served within the organization.

Supporting Organization Fund

Some nonprofit organizations may wish to establish an endowment through The Skagit Community Foundation.  We believe strong and sustainable non-profits benefit our community.

Non-endowed Pass-through Fund

These funds provide donors with matching opportunities and funds are generally used for a time-sensitive project that uses the entire principal by a specific date

Scholarship Fund

You can establish a fund for your alma mater or to students who wish to pursue a field of study at local or state universities and learning institutions
