Building a Community of Giving since 1992
The Skagit Community Foundation has been building a community of giving since 1992. We help donors enhance the quality of life in our local community now and well into the future. Its founders, Burl and Dorothy Ives and other caring Skagit County residents, first established the foundation to build a world-class performing arts center to the region – now known as McIntyre Hall. Soon after, they realized that the foundation could do far more to serve the growing and changing needs of our community.
By providing a vehicle to donors to establish charitable endowments, we manage funds that provide scholarships, protect our native farmlands, support local libraries and distribute large donations to survivors of unforeseen tragedies.
Our staff and board have solid and deep roots within the community. Together they bring a commitment to service within the local business, public and nonprofit segments of Skagit County.
Our worry-free and personalized approach to charitable giving is based on our understanding of issues important to our community, the support and strength of our local nonprofit organizations and proven giving strategies.
